About the Department
Theoretical Sciences Department is one of the scientific departments in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / University of Misan. It was established in 2005. It aims to provide students with basic knowledge and skills in the various fields of physical education and sports sciences. The department focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects through the study of various subjects such as kinesiology, sports physiology, sports psychology, methodology and teaching methods in physical education. The department also aims to prepare qualified cadres for teaching and training in the sports field, in addition to preparing them for scientific research in this field.

It deserves all of us to work sincerely and make an effort to advance and advance it. I will not hide from you the secret that, through my supervision of the presidency of the Theoretical Sciences Department at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, I found an opportunity to offer more contributions to repay this generous country. This is achieved through a vision that I and my fellow faculty members in the department seek to make the Theoretical Sciences Department one of the pillars of higher education and academic scientific research. An integrated team, we strive through this vision to prepare distinguished graduates in the field of physical education and sports sciences by offering distinguished educational, research, and academic programs and utilizing available human resources to contribute to the development of individuals and society. To achieve our vision, we have prepared a clear and purposeful work plan, and we ask God Almighty to grant us all success in implementing it.
Laboratories and halls
Scientific laboratories are the cornerstone of scientific research development. Through them, researchers can conduct their research experiments to arrive at unquestionable scientific facts. The development of physical education sciences has prompted scientific companies producing scientific equipment to propose a special production line for physical education sciences. This line manufactures equipment specifically for physical education that mimics its environment, including equipment specialized in movement sciences, physiology of physical effort, motor learning, and sports psychology. Accordingly, the scientific laboratory at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Misan, was established upon the college’s inauguration in 2005. It has been equipped with the latest modern scientific laboratory equipment from international sources, according to an equipment plan prepared for this purpose. The goal of this step is to facilitate the work of graduate and undergraduate students in obtaining equipment and to ensure that the research submitted rises to a high standard befitting the reputation, history, and status of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Misan.
Academic plan
There is a comprehensive strategic vision for the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences that contributes to directing work areas at all levels through planning and organization away from randomness, which contributes to its transition from one state to a better one, so that it is integrated and comprehensive with government departments in the public and private sectors, while identifying the policies and programs that must be implemented to meet future requirements and scientific and practical developments witnessed by international university training. In light of the “National Strategy for Education and Higher Education” for the years 2012-2022 and the data of analyzing the current situation of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and anticipating its financial resources within the foreseeable future, an analytical study was conducted on human resources and infrastructure, and an analysis of the gap between the current situation of the university and its strategic objectives was carried out. The administrative axis began formulating an executive plan for the coming years 2021-2026.
Scientific research
The importance of scientific research is to clarify the methodology that can be used when dealing with a solution to any problem that confronts a person in his field of work in general, physical education and sports in particular, as scientific research is an applied field for the various and diverse life sciences that serve the person and help him in choosing the appropriate motor activity for his abilities and readiness.
